Why Data Sovereignty Matters for Africa
For too long, African data has been processed and controlled by infrastructure outside the continent. ANED AI exists to change this. Last Updated: April 2026.
Our Commitment
All data processed through ANED AI is handled on African infrastructure. Your prompts, documents, and outputs are processed and stored within Africa. We do not transfer data outside the continent without explicit consent. This is a foundational principle.
African Data Protection Compliance
We comply with: Kenya Data Protection Act 2019; Nigeria NDPR; South Africa POPIA; AU Convention on Cyber Security and Personal Data Protection; Rwanda Data Protection Law; Ghana Data Protection Act 2012; Tanzania Electronic and Postal Communications Act; and emerging frameworks across all 54 nations.
Infrastructure & Hosting
We operate on cloud infrastructure hosted within Africa, with data centres in key regions for low latency and high availability. Enterprise customers may choose specific regions or deploy on-premise.
Customer Data Controls
You maintain control: end-to-end encryption, role-based permissions, data export, deletion rights, and audit logs showing all access to your data.
Government & Enterprise Guarantees
For sensitive sectors: dedicated instances with data isolation, on-premise deployment, custom retention policies, independent security audits, and contractual residency guarantees.
Government Data Requests
We disclose data only when legally compelled by valid court order. We notify affected users unless prohibited. We publish an annual transparency report on government requests.
