Overview

Our Commitment

ANED AI is built with the conviction that AI must serve all of Africa's people equitably. We develop AI that is fair, transparent, safe, and respectful of the continent's diverse cultures and languages. Last Updated: April 2026.

Section 1

AI Principles

Fairness — equitable performance across all African languages and cultures. Transparency — clear communication about capabilities and limitations. Accountability — responsibility for our technology's impact. Safety — preventing harmful outputs. Privacy — protecting data and sovereignty. Inclusivity — access for underserved communities.

Section 2

Fairness Across African Cultures

We train on authentic data from every major language family, test for cultural sensitivity, and work with native speakers and community organisations to validate model behaviour in local contexts.

Section 3

Bias Mitigation

We address bias through diverse training corpora, regular audits across languages, red-teaming with African researchers, and user feedback mechanisms for reporting biased outputs.

Section 4

Safety & Content Filtering

All models include safety filters calibrated for African contexts — understanding local nuances around political speech, cultural expression, and community standards.

Section 5

Evaluation & Benchmarking

Every release evaluated against our African Language Benchmark Suite covering language quality, business accuracy, regulatory correctness, safety, and latency across 8+ languages. Regressions blocked.

Section 6

Community Engagement

We partner with: Masakhane, African universities and NLP labs, language preservation organisations, digital rights groups, and government bodies on AI governance.

Section 7

Incident Reporting

Report harmful outputs to safety@anedcenter.com. We investigate all reports and use feedback to improve.
